Snowdon & Co of Rochdale and Oldham flourished between 1876 and 1886 and there is reference in the Yorkshire Exhibition of 1879 as well as The Furniture Gazette of 30th August 1879, detailing Snowdon exhibiting an inlaid bedroom suite in sycamore and walnut at the exhibition.

It has always been family belief that this was the bedroom suite detailed and the scale and impressive nature of the suite would also indicate this.
